Description
“It felt like it worked” is not a return on investment
Ask most marketers which campaign performed best last quarter and you’ll get an impression, not a number. The spend lives in one place, the revenue in another, and nobody has sat the two next to each other since the campaign ended.
This kit sits them next to each other automatically — every campaign’s spend against the revenue it generated, with ROI and ROAS calculated the moment you log the numbers.
What you get
1. A 10-sheet Excel workbook
- Start Here — how the sheets connect
- Campaign Log — every campaign, with channel, type, and dates
- Results Log — spend and revenue logged against each campaign
- Campaign ROI Summary — ROI calculated automatically for every campaign
- Channel Performance Comparison — which channels actually earn their spend, side by side
- Campaign Type Performance — which campaign types — launch, promo, always-on — perform best
- Monthly ROI Summary — spend, revenue, and ROI trend by month, with a chart
- Top ROI Campaigns — your best campaigns ranked automatically
- Campaign Lookup — type a campaign, see its full spend and return record
- Dashboard — total spend, total revenue, overall ROI and ROAS, and your best campaign, live

Compatibility
Microsoft Excel 2016 and later, Microsoft 365, Google Sheets, and LibreOffice Calc. Works with any currency, any channel, and any naming convention — you enter your own data rather than being locked into a fixed list of platforms or categories.
This is a planning and organization tool. It does not constitute tax, accounting, legal, or financial advice. Results depend on the accuracy of the figures you enter.
Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between ROI and ROAS?
ROAS is revenue divided by spend — a multiple. ROI is profit (revenue minus spend) divided by spend — a percentage. The guide explains when to use each, and the workbook calculates both automatically.
Does it pull spend and revenue from my ad platforms automatically?
No — you enter the final numbers yourself, which keeps the figures accurate and consistent regardless of which platforms or attribution windows you use.
How many campaigns can I track?
The log ships with room for 40 entries — copy a row down to add more.
Will this work in Google Sheets?
Yes. Upload to Google Drive and open with Google Sheets — formulas, dropdowns, and the chart all carry over.
How is this different from the Marketing Budget Tracker?
The Budget Tracker is about staying inside a planned spend as you go. This one is about what that spend actually returned, after the fact. They’re designed to be used together.
